James M. Nuttall brings to Business Edge over 22 years of proven experience in a highly competitive industry. He offers a broad range of current and practical business and sales expertise honed during his progression from “in the trenches” field sales to the senior management level of a Fortune 150 international sales corporation.

Jim’s early career years taught him the “on your feet” sales skills that make him invaluable as a sales coach to direct sales professionals seeking individual mentoring and support.

As part of Jim’s mid-career years, he was singled out as a “fix-it” manager in the challenging Detroit area, where his sales coaching led newly developed districts to substantial sales increases and established success.

More recently, Jim directed sales in the corporate account arena, first as an Assistant Vice President for the institutional market and then as Corporate Account Manager- Government Accounts for Ecolab, Inc. From these experiences, he has developed the ability to assist clients with designing multi-year contracts, strategic alliance agreements and methods for securing new customers while at the same time deepening relationships with existing customer bases.

Jim is a high energy, “straight shooting” leader with a proven ability to take a team of diverse personalities with wide-ranging skills and to lead them successfully through challenging business situations. His track record shows that not only does he have the ability to set goals and objectives with an entire team; but also, he excels at engaging and relating to individual team members, prompting them to reach their own highest performance outcomes.

One of Jim’s special interests is supporting his client base in regaining control of their business. He at the same time values helping clients cope with the balance of succeeding in business while also maintaining a rich and satisfying personal life. His own successful experiences in managing both aspects of his life have made him a highly requested coach. Jim interacts genuinely with his clients and is trusted for his sense of integrity.

Jim earned a BS degree from Michigan State University. Additionally, he has led or completed numerous courses and seminars on the topics of sales, negotiating skills, coaching and mentoring.

At home, Jim is part of another fun, challenging and raucously successful team. He and his wife, Kelly, have five children, spanning the years from 10 to 19, and they thrive on the lessons they learn every day during this adventure.
